The Foundation was incorporated in 2008. The Foundation's mission emerged from the experiences of the McDevitt family over the years. Each of the board members has individually supported various charities that enabled young people to maximize their potential. Forming a foundation was suggested to unite and strengthen these efforts. The family realized there were needy children all over the world as well as in their own backyards. The following charities have been selected as their 2010 recipients:
